Linton and Mandy Ferguson family have lived in several homes. After Mandy and Linton met, they rented a house at 12 Morphet Avenue, Ascot vale. After getting married they bought a house in Ascot Vale at 22 St Leonards Road, Ascot Vale.

Jasmine and Emma were born and started their lives living at 22 St Leonards Road, Ascot Vale. While living in Ascot Vale, Linton began teaching at his first teaching position at Maribyrnong Secondary College for ten years, from 1976 to 1985.

In 1986 Linton accepted a teaching position at Shepparton High School, staying for twenty years from 1986 to 2006.
